What You Should Know
Does your loved one seem sad or withdrawn? That may be depression or isolation at work. One often feeds the other, and both are common causes of mood changes in seniors. In either case, you need to take action. Exercise, visitors, and other forms of engagement may be what's missing. A social worker or therapist may provide help.
Steps To Take
- Get your loved one's doctor to do a mental health assessment.
- Check out the links above, which may give you a preview of what the doc will find.
