Make sure your loved one's doctors are in sync.HEALTH & MEDICAL
What You Should Know
It is vitally important that all doctors treating your loved one are at the very least aware of what the others are doing, especially when it comes to prescribing drugs and other therapies. For that reason, you may want to appoint one doctor to lead your loved one's care. A geriatrician is the obvious choice, because s/he specializes in the complex interactions of multiple ailments and medications.
Steps To Take
- Make sure all doctors on the care team have each other's contact info.
- Choose one doctor (probably a geriatrician) to lead the others.
