Put someone in charge of coordinating family visits with your loved one.

QUALITY OF LIFE

What You Should Know

Family visits mean the world to many seniors, who may spend long hours alone. But doing it right takes coordination. Many seniors like visitors to arrive at different times, to ensure they get individual attention. If everyone arrives at once, the parent may be ignored as siblings discuss school or sports. Younger relatives may need an extra push to take time out for their older loved ones, but in the long run, you know it's worth making that effort.

Steps To Take

  • Create a shared calendar (iCal, Google Calendar, etc.) to coordinate timing of visits.
  • Make sure younger relatives are on board with the plan.
